Understanding Ocular Migraines

The eye migraine is considered a migraine which causes visual interference. With or without the associated pain of a classic migraine, ocular migraines may develop.

However you may see flashing or shimmering lights, zigzagging lines, or stars during an eye migraine, or aura migraine. Because some people describe images that are psychedelic. Therefore in your field of vision, it can also trigger blind spots. Similarly one out of every five people who report migraines feel this aura.

Therefore eyepieces can interfere with your ability to perform tasks such as reading, writing, or driving. Symptoms are mild and no severe disorder is known to be an ocular migraine.

Therefore ocular migraine is sometimes confused with retinal migraine, but the two conditions are distinct. Because a retinal migraine is rare, affecting just one eye. So vision loss in one eye may be a sign of a more serious medical problem. However you should seek medical attention if you have vision loss in one eye to rule out any underlying conditions.

It is not clear exactly what causes eye migraine, but a known risk factor is a personal or family history of migraines. Physicians argue that eye migraine has the same causes as typical migraine.

Migraine has a genetic connection. A migraine family history or eye migraine history increases your chances of having them.

2nd Cause is Hormone Changes

Migraines were associated with the estrogen hormone. However estrogen controls brain chemicals that affect pain sensation. Because of menstrual cycle, pregnancy, and menopause, hormones fluctuate in women. So oral contraceptives and hormone replacement therapies also affect hormone levels.

However even though the migraines exist alone and are not a symptom of an underlying condition, they can still weaken your life and have an impact. Therefore, if you experience blind spots or vision disturbances, you’ll want to wait for them to pass before driving.

Therefore ocular migraines usually go away within 30 minutes on their own. So you should rest until the vision disturbances are gone and avoid triggers like bright lights.

Both counter-treatments and prescription drugs can be used to treat recurring migraines. Over-the-counter drugs such as ibuprofen or Excedrin migraine may be used to reduce migraine symptoms once you have them already. Always Concern your doctor for prescriptions.
